Aadhaar Users Can Now Change Mobile Number from the App — Other Update Services to Launch Soon
Aadhaar users have received a major convenience upgrade, as UIDAI has officially enabled the mobile number update feature on the new Aadhaar App. For the first time ever, users can change their registered mobile number digitally — no need to visit an Aadhaar Enrolment Centre.

Mobile number update goes live on Aadhaar App
Until now, updating the mobile number linked to Aadhaar required a physical visit to a centre. With the latest app update, the “Mobile Number Update” option is fully active under the update menu in the Aadhaar App.
This change is significant because the registered mobile number is crucial for OTP-based authentication, which is required for most Aadhaar-related online services. Allowing users to change their number online marks the first time UIDAI has opened this particular service for digital access.

Other update options still under development
Besides mobile number, the app also lists three more demographic update categories — Name, Email ID and Address. However, these options are currently unavailable. When accessed, they display the message:
“This feature is coming soon, it is in the development phase!”
UIDAI is expected to roll out these additional update services in the coming months, convenience to Aadhaar users.
